About Hues around Us:
Two artists: Manoj Kajbale from Raigad – for whom nature and the rural ethos have been a part of daily life; and Shruti Chawan from Mumbai for whom inspiration comes from reading books and stories…together unveil ‘Hues around Us” – an exhibition for true-blue abstract lovers!
“Living in the city, I have realised how much impact nature has had on me,” says Manoj as he laments the loss of nature, almost like losing a vital part of his life. Consequently, his artistic expressions subconsciously seek out those memories and impressions of nature and native life. The life of the Adivasis, rural culture and traditions, lush greenery, wildlife, the dancing reflections of the sun… all of these connect Manoj to his art.
“I always found my own world in reading books and a variety of stories, which since childhood have always helped in boosting my imagination and creating a variety of forms and compositions, exploring different subjects from the psychology of inner emotions to the culture around. These are aspects that surface as veiled narratives in my paintings,” says artist Shruti Chawan.
For both the artists, colours play an integral role. Inherent to the emotions that drive them, the artists connect with the viewer via their vivid palettes as if trying to communicate their thoughts and emotions, conversing with the viewer through the one medium that they best recognise – their abstract art.
A beautiful exhibition. Not to be missed!
Nice art work Shruti 👍
