World Event Young Artists 2012 (WEYA) in partnership with India Foundation for the Arts (IFA) invites applications from young artists for participation in the first World Event Young Artists 2012

World Event Young Artists 2012 is the first event of its kind that will take place in the cultural city of Nottingham, England in September 2012.
This global cultural event will bring together the best international creative talent from across a spectrum of art formsin one city. Bringing together about 1,000 artists from 120 nations, WEYA will celebrate the creativity of young artists in internationally regarded cultural venues and alternative spaces across Nottingham for 10 days from 7th to 16th September 2012.
The World Event will be an opportunity for international exchange and intercultural dialogue across political borders. Artists will get a chance to see work from all over the world, collaborate with other like-minded individuals, network and take part in workshops, debates and symposiums.
World Event Young Artists 2012 is hosted by UK Young Artists (UKYA) and supported by Arts Council England, Cultural Olympiad East Midlands, Nottingham Trent University and Nottingham City Council. India Foundation for the Arts is an India partner for the selection process.
Applications are invited under the categories of:
1. Visual Arts – Original work in all media will be considered.(Fine Art, Photography, Installation, Video Art, Digital Art, Public Art)
2.   Moving Image - Original works, both fiction and documentary in any format (Film, Video, Animation)
3.      Performance - Original performances in dance and theatre in any technique or language will be considered.
Individuals & Collectives/Groups in the age group of 18 to 30 years (born between 1st September 1982 and 1st September 1994 only) can respond to this open call. In case of groups / collectives, the team should have a maximum of seven people. Only Indian nationals residing in India or abroad are eligible to apply.

The last date for receiving completed applications is 31st March 2012.
