Gallery Pradarshak presents its Annual Student Exhibition - Vidyarthi Vishesh, now in its 24th consecutive year!
The first thing that an artist does when he begins to weld the brush is perhaps to paint from his immediate surrounds. That’s when the landscape begins to take shape. In his initial trials, the artist is also nurtured to paint from nature – on-spot landscapes, streetscapes… that help him get the perspective right, the light where it should be and the scale and form into place.
Ironically, what seems the simplest to the eye is, in fact, quite a challenge as beautiful vistas are captured on paper and canvas. Young students often begin with watercolours, which are a one-stroke affair and do not allow correction. So, to view such mesmerising vistas predominantly captured on-spot are a real treat to the eye.

What’s more, the young ones learn very early to hone their skillset graduating to oils and acrylics. Streetscapes, rural schemas, intimidating peaks and deep gorges are photo-realistically presented. Many a seascape captures the eye too, rendered with depth and panache.
