Jan16 – Jan28, 2012 – Pradarshak presents “My Baby”,
realistic paintings in acrylic on canvas by
debutante artist Sudhir
Pawar.
Sudhir
Pawar is not a young aspiring artist but a nurtured mature one, who has
consistently honed his skills over the last 15 odd years. A lecturer at the
Bharati Vidyapeeth’s College of Fine Arts, Pune, he has accomplished his Govt.
Diploma in Art, Art Master’s Diploma, and Diploma in Art Education and his
Masters in Fine Art.
What
sets him apart as a debutante is not his qualification but his stand-alone
presence after all these years in the field of fine art. It is one high when we
introduce a young upcoming artist, who we observe in his process of maturing
and we trust that he will one day define a niche for himself. In Sudhir’s case,
here is an artist, who has accomplished this high but has very sparingly
showcased his work, waiting until he felt he was absolutely ready for the
audience. Of course, several accolades and awards, participations and group
exhibitions, not to mention a growing client base has encouraged and enhanced
his efforts all along.
The
current exhibition - the artist’s debut solo exhibition – is based on the
thematic – “My Baby”. “My daughter has been my major source of inspiration.
Ever since her birth, I have been amazed at her visual as well as emotional
appeal. The father-daughter relation itself is a wonderful experience, and has
been a major influence in my paintings ever since,” says the artist. Using
peculiar and very unusual compositions, hues, colour schemes and textures,
Sudhir strives to capture a host of childhood expressions – the joy, innocence,
enthusiasm, purity, vulnerability etc. in his paintings.
Visually
captivating, the exhibition is a refreshing change from the humdrum of everyday
issues and allows one to peep into the diversity of a child’s world of emotive
expressions.
