Kana Lomror an artist trained at Shantiniketan and presently based in Mumbai conducted a 2-day workshop on copper enamelling at Gallery Pradarshak, Mumbai. The 6th and 7th of Feb’09 saw him explain and demonstrate the finer nuances of the art of copper enamelling with his students. Painstakingly – as copper enamelling is more an exercise in patience – each piece was cleaned-coloured-fired-filed and the process repeated until the desired results were accomplished.
The students created two small paintings on day 1 while day 2 saw each of them experiment with a pair of trendy and charming earnings.
The experience was fun and the students went away happy with 3-4 techniques lapped up for future experimentation.
