“Life is a festival of colours,” says artist Yogesh Patil. Mumbai based upcoming artist Yogesh celebrates life and its myriad festivities – little nothings that bring joy – through his semi-abstract figurative expressions, where the protagonist is generally the woman. Heavily laden with traditional Indian symbolism, which the artist has studied at length anoint his canvases, bringing them alive to a variety of emotions – patience, kindness, joy, courage etc.

Generally rendered in acrylic on canvas, the paintings create a distinct visual appeal. Another interesting facet of his work is his colour palette, which veers from the primary hues to mixed unusual tones of purple, sap green, orange, and golden yellow.

  1. Wonderful work! I am intrigued by the expressionist figures complimented with abstract elements. I think it depicts a direction in style that is an emerging movement and reflective of the importance of maintaining the importance of beauty in art.
