Cast your valuable vote

The student exhibition at Pradarshak is perhaps the only one of its kind that awards the student artists based on a poll system...
When Vidyarthi Vishesh took shape, back in 1995, Pradarshak was very pleased to showcase a total of about 60-70 works of art from various colleges of art in Mumbai. Soon, the show grew in stature to welcome colleges of art around Mumbai and the participation encompassed students from Aurangabad, Latur, Sangli, Pune, Nasik, Nagpur, Dhule, and Sholapur. The works received and selected were varied – in treatment and subject; and the show presented the most opportune moment to award and recognize this young talent.

In 2003, Pradarshak instituted 2 awards – by Public Choice and by Gallery Choice. While the former is based on a simple voting system where each visitor to the 2-month long exhibition is asked to cast his vote on the best 3 works according to him; the latter is carefully selected by the gallery on basis of merit.

We are now in the penultimate week of Vidayrathi Vishesh 2011. Votes have been cast and are being cast. If you haven’t cast yours already, please feel free to visit the online albums of all the four phases of our Student exhibition 2011.
