Recent artistic endeavours of talented contemporary artist, Asif Sharif Shaikh reveal the innovative yet impulsive assimilation of his thoughts and perceptions. An inquisitive exploration into his work illustrates beyond doubt, his command over the medium used and skill in aptly handling the various techniques adopted for aesthetic and artistic adornment of his creative work in the respective genres he pursues.

Deeply obsessed by Nature and her panoramic marvels in various seasons since a very young age, Asif Shaikh creates vivid artworks using a pragmatic approach and scientific outlook. He incorporates the real and surreal, the actual and the imagined, juxtaposing the musings of his inner subconscious with his artistic perceptions and freedom.
Iconic impressions of the surrounding environment - the flowers, petals, their fragrance; leaves, trees – their trunks and base; rustic steel plates, stones of different shapes, earth, moss developed on wet walls, etc., leave an indelible impact on the artist’s sensitive mind and have always occupied a prominent place in his works, catering to the artistic adornment of his multifaceted paintings. Apt colour combinations, artistic layering defer to nature’s bounty viz., bright sunshine, glittering stars, blossoming colourful flowers in different seasons, mist, dew, aromas, etc… via tonal harmony and the distinct rhythm of his sublime palette.

The artist hopes to reach out to a corresponding pleasantness in the viewers’ appreciation of his art, which will in turn, duly inspire and motivate him to incorporate newer iconic elements in his forthcoming works of art and thereby accomplish significant milestones in his artistic journey.
