13th – 24th Feb. 2017:  Pradarshak presents Solo Exhibition by Manish Bobade

Young artist Manish Bobade shows a marked preoccupation with pets and memories from his childhood. Expressing himself in the semi-abstract genre, his paintings on the series “my pet” includes imagery of the dog, cow, and goat and in some instances, birds.

Realism meets the stylized as Manish periodically revisits his love for animals, especially dogs; and has developed a distinct texture that sets his subject apart. Clean backdrops, deep hues and distinct moods characterize his paintings, where at times, he is the protagonist.

Single colours like olive green, aquamarine blue, golden yellow or deep crimson offset the animals that are at times depicted in the photorealistic style; and at others with elongated bodies, appearing almost surreal.
