5th -17th Jan.’15: Pradarshak presents “Indian Musicians” watercolour on archival paper paintings by Shakeel Momin.

Watercolour is a challenging medium and when you see a free flowing blend of a melange of colours – sky blue, sea green, sunny yellow, melony orange... that fuse to create a vibrant scenario as potent as the symphony being portrayed, you’re lost in the work of art and the simple thematic that the artist Shakeel Momin weaves for you.

His paintings touch your soul. Musicians, mostly Brahmins, lost in the trance of the divine, sway to the spirituality that they seek within, through the simple ethos of praising the Lord. The artist recreates this simple act that is a common enough sight in India, and connects the common man to his vision via an imagery of bold, unfettered rendering of colour and joie de vivre.
