Phase II – Abstracts.  Featured are works by artists Nilesh Sutar, Nandini Pantawane, Satish Mane, Tushar Jadyal, Kaustubh Bhalkar, Namita S Kanade, Pravin Dalvi, Prashant Date, Shanti Kasivishwanathan, Somnath Adamane and Aparna Dalvi among several others.

Abstraction indicates a departure from reality in depiction of imagery in art. This departure from accurate representation can be only slight, or it can be partial, or it can be complete. Abstraction exists along a continuum. However, where students of abstract art are concerned, the work of art is more a composition that juxtaposes form and colour with technique and subject leading to a representation of artistic expression, possibly in context to a particular instance or time.
.

Total abstraction bears no trace of any reference to anything recognizable and one can say that abstract art by students fits well into this category.
It is often said that when visual art becomes more abstract, it begins to allude to music as our senses respond to various stimuli that are connected at a deeper aesthetic level. A huge possibility thus, that every time one contemplates an abstract painting, one travels through a different plane of thought; visualizing a variation, and enjoying it each time.

  1. These are wonderfull peices. I do question your definition of abstract. When I view abstract work I am find myself intuitively influenced by Roschach's theory that abstract images invoke images of reality.
