Vidyarthi Vishesh 2012 – Online Preview

Mark 29th June as your date with your computer. A fine collection of fine art by students of various art colleges around Maharashtra will be on view as the online preview of the exhibition to be held from 2nd July’12 onwards at Gallery Pradarshak, Khar, Mumbai.

It is that time of year when the students of art colleges from all over Maharashtra put their best feet forward and attempt to garner critiques by showcasing their works of art in various student-led exhibitions at various galleries.

At Pradarshak, “Vidyarthi Vishesh” or the “Student Special” exhibition is a niche story of success. Year after year, the work gets better, the body of work larger and the buyers happier.Currently in its seventeenth consecutive year, participating are around 60 students from various art colleges from Mumbai, Pune, Nasik, Latur, Gadchiroli and Benaras.

Vidyarthi Vishesh is an exhibition that highlights diverse styles, techniques and mediums and is truly affordable. The concept of the exhibition is based on an interactive principle; the student exhibition extends over a period of 8 weeks and has been phased out to convenience the art enthusiast. It features creative and thought-provoking realistic and semi-realistic paintings apart from a host of Graphic Prints, Drawings, Still Life, Seascapes, Cityscapes, Landscapes, Compositions, as well as Experimental work.

The prices generally range from a minimum of Rs.2000 to a maximum of Rs. 30000/- thus making original art from the ‘artists of tomorrow’ accessible and affordable.
